Puerto Aysén is a small port for the islands of Aysén territory. This port that was once reached by ships and ocean liners today is only a port for fishing boats, which makes it a real fishing village. People responsible for the mutation undergone by the port were settlers that caused fires in the area to be able to inhabit the territory by producing the port silting up during the 60's and thus, giving the leading role to Chacabuco port, only 14 km. away. Nowadays, Chacabuco is the port of entry for ships and cruises that sail through the beautiful glaciers of the Laguna San Rafael, led by Navimag.

The road to Lago Los Palos is wonderful. Sailing through the fluvial ports of Aguas Muertas and Los Palos, the road opens up to Los Palos lake, located in a settler's valley amid beautiful vegetation.
Another interesting alternative is visiting Lago Blanco, where sport fishing can be practiced. |
