Location

Located in the southernmost region of the American continent, in Patagonia, we find Hotel Cabo de Hornos in Punta Arenas and Hotel Costaustralis in Puerto Natales. Punta Arenas, on the bank of the Strait of Magellan is part of the Brunswick Peninsula, and Puerto Natales, on the edge of the Señoret Channel is in Ultima Esperanza and face to face with the Patagonian Andes.

How to get there

By Air

The International Airport Carlos Ibáñez del Campo, located 20 kilometers from Punta Arenas, regularly receives flights from Santiago and Puerto Montt. To get to Punta Arenas or Puerto Natales (254 kms.) it is easy to catch a bus, mini bus or taxi from the airport terminal. There are also regional flights to the cities of Puerto Natales, Porvenir and Puerto Williams, which have connecting flights to cities in Argentina.

By Sea

It’s out of Puerto Montt where ships set sail -crossing the Patagonian Channels- to reach the ports of Punta Arenas and Puerto Natales; a different experience to see southern Chile and its wonderful natural Patagonian environment. Setting sail out of Puerto Montt you can make this beautiful voyage to Puerto Natales in four days.

Land

By land, there are approximately 3,100 km from Santiago or 2,300 km from Puerto Montt. From Puerto Montt to the south, the trip is made via Argentinean territory and then back into Chile through the Monte Aymond Pass. The Pass is near Rio Gallegos, a city in Argentina, at 192 kms from Punta Arenas. Regularly, there are buses out of Santiago, Osorno and Puerto Montt to Punta Arenas, and from there onto Puerto Natales.
